Grow an Origami Plant with Kids



The Parts of Plant is an easy and simple stem activity for Kindergarten, teaching kids the basic acknowledge about the plant. You grow this plant with your kids and they are supposed to put the sticker to the right place.

Ages: 3+          Time: < 20 mins

 Safety 

  1. Adult supervision.
  2. Be careful with the sharp scissors.

 Materials List 

  • Scissors
  • Origami
  • Glue
  • Pen

 Instruction 

Step 1/4 – Drawing different parts of a plant on different color paper.

Step 2/4 – Cut out what you have drawn.

Step 3/4 – Glue the different parts on a blue paper, composing a complete plant.

Step 4/4 – Write down the name of different parts of a plant and let your kids stick them to the right place.

 Scientific Description 

The plant we usually see daily is composed of Stem, Root, Leaf Flower. Roots absorb water and minerals from the earth. Stem transfer water and minerals to the leaf. The leaf produces energy for the whole plant. The flower gives birth to the next generation.

 Extensions 

Can you make an animal? A fish or a bird? And, name their parts.
